Homework Week Aug. 25-28

Wed. Aug. 25

Welcome to Apex Middle School.  Today in class, we went over my Student Expectations for Social Studies and we reviewed at the end of class.  Students will have a quiz on these expectations on Tuesday, Aug. 31.
I will do a short review again on Monday.

Homework- Get Student Expectations sheet signed by a parent for first (100)  homework grade.
On the back of your nametag that you made in Homeroom, create a license plate (example shown in all classes) that lets us know something about you.

Take 10 minutes to watch a news broadcast (local or national) or to scan a newspaper.


Thursday, Aug. 26

Today we finished (if not complete yesterday) the Student Expectations and did a quick review for SS Money

I collected signed expectations sheets for 100 today,

Shared license plates.

Began Current Event Activity Sheet by looking anewspapers.  What else is in a newspaper besides news, what were some of the summer news stories. 

Homework- 10 minutes to watch the news or read a newspaper
Student Expectations Sheet Signed (90) homework grade


Friday-Aug. 27

Today in class, I collected any student expectations sheets that were not turned in yesterday.

We continued to talk about summer news stories and what classifies as a current event. 
We did a sample current event in class today and discussed grading.

We may begin Geography definitions in class today if time.

Homework- Student Expectations signed for (80) homework grade
                    10 minutes of watching the news or reading a newspaper

Remember that you have a quiz Tuesday on the Student Expectations Sheet.
